Los Angeles, CA (January 2019) — University Credit Union (UCU), co-founder of the LMU Food Pantry, is happy to restock the shelves before the students return from winter break next week.

Established in March 2017, UCU and their team have been supporting the LMU Food Pantry by hosting seasonal food drives over the past few years. Annually, a donation of $3,600 is allocated to the Pantry to help purchase supplies for undergraduate and graduate students. There are no qualifications to who can access the pantry, and, approximately 300-500 students who are struggling financially are fed each semester. Beginning this year, UCU will be collecting supplies and monetary contributions year-round as the need for assistance among the student body increases.

“We have been committed to serving the prestigious university communities since 1951” said Dr. David Tuyo, UCU’s Chief Executive Officer and President. “This is just another way for us to support these communities, give back to the students and help them remain focused on their education.”
